FAQs - Bathroom Rip Out Cambridge
We strip your bathroom back to a bare shell. That means removing the toilet, basin, bath and shower (depending on your bathroom size), plus old tiles, flooring and fittings, ready for the next stage.
The price depends on the size of the job: small (toilet and basin), medium (toilet, basin and bath) or large (toilet, basin, bath and shower). Prices start from £120 for small, £180 for medium and £240 for large. We confirm the exact price after seeing the room.
A bathroom rip out can take between 1-2 days depending on the condition of the bathroom. Heavily tiled walls or stubborn fittings can add time, and we tell you before starting.
We don’t handle waste removal ourselves, but we can arrange a skip for you. The skip hire is a separate cost, and we organise it so the waste is cleared quickly.
If the skip goes on your driveway, you normally don’t. If it has to sit on the public road, a permit from the council is usually required.
Fittings need disconnecting safely before removal. Any electrical work must be done by a qualified electrician, and we can arrange this if needed.
Older homes can contain asbestos in materials such as textured ceilings or old floor tiles. If we suspect it, we stop and tell you, because it needs testing and specialist removal. We also tell you straight away about hidden damp or rot, so you can decide the next step.
Some dust is unavoidable in a strip-out. We cover floors and doorways and keep the work area contained, and we clean up at the end of each day.
Yes. If it’s your only toilet, plan for the days it’s out of use. We tell you in advance how long that is, so you can arrange alternatives.
The room is ready for plastering, tiling and a new suite. We can carry out those stages too, so one team handles the whole bathroom.
