FAQs - Bathroom Tilers Cambridge
We fit ceramic, porcelain and large-format tiles.
If you buy them, we’ll tell you how many to order. Always get about 10% extra for cuts, breakages and future repairs, and buy them all from the same batch.
Yes, both. Your quote states which areas are included, such as shower walls, around the bath, half-height walls or the floor.
Showers and areas around baths need proper waterproofing (called tanking) behind the tiles. Skipping this is a leading cause of leaks and damp.
Tiling a bathroom can take a couple hours to a day depending on the size and requirement Adhesive and grout need drying time between stages, and we don’t rush it.
Adhesive and grout need to cure first, usually 72 hours, depending on the products. We tell you exactly when it’s safe to use, and follow the manufacturer’s guidance.
Sometimes, if the old tiles are flat, firmly stuck and the extra thickness is acceptable. In most bathrooms, especially during a renovation, removing the old tiles gives a better and longer-lasting result.
Yes. Heating mats or cables need to be installed and tested before tiling, and we use a suitable flexible adhesive.
Grout fills the gaps between tiles and silicone seals the corners and joints where movement happens, such as where the bath meets the wall. You can choose your grout colour, and a colour close to the tile is the most forgiving.
Tile size, layout patterns, the area covered and the wall condition all change the price. A small bathroom starts from £180, medium from £240 and large from £300. Small tiles and diagonal patterns take longer than large plain ones.
